Shopify has deprecated the discount code box on the Cart page, which means discount codes will no longer work or appear there for many stores. Because of this change, discount codes must now be entered only on the Checkout page.
This is the recommended method and fully supported by Shopify.
Once enabled, customers can enter their discount codes during checkout, and everything will apply as expected.
