What is the difference between Inventory Control and Inventory & SKU Management?

Modified on Tue, 31 Mar at 12:04 AM

Inventory Control (e.g., Option-Linked / Variant-Linked Inventory) manages stock by linking app options directly to your store’s existing product variants. This means when a customer selects certain options, the inventory of the connected shopify variant is automatically updated and tracked.

On the other hand, Inventory & SKU Management is an enterprise-level feature that allows you to assign and manage independent inventory and SKUs for app options themselves—without relying on existing shopify product variants. This is ideal when your options behave like standalone products or require separate stock tracking.

Key difference:

  • Inventory Control → Syncs and updates inventory based on Shopify linked variants.
  • Inventory & SKU Management → Manages inventory and SKUs directly at the App option level.
