How to Hide the Wishlist Button on Specific Products Using Selective Display

Modified on Thu, 9 Jul at 7:49 PM

By default, the Advanced Wishlist app displays the wishlist button on all product pages across your store. If you have products that are on auction, in a pre-order stage, or temporarily unavailable, you can use the Selective Display feature to hide the wishlist button from those specific items using product tags.

Step-by-Step Configuration Guide

To restrict the wishlist button from appearing on specific items, follow these steps in your app settings:

  1. Open the app dashboard and navigate to Settings > Advanced Settings.

  2. Locate the Selective display section.

  3. Check the box labeled Hide wishlist button on some products.

  4. In the Add Tag input field, type the exact Shopify product tag you want to exclude (e.g., pre-order, auction) and press Enter on your keyboard.

  5. Click Save to apply the configuration.

Managing Your Excluded Tags

  • Removing a Tag: If you want to show the wishlist button on those items again, simply click the x icon next to the active tag inside the Selective Display field to remove it.

  • Match Shopify Tags: Ensure the tags entered in the app exactly match the product tags added to your catalog listings within the Shopify Admin core products area.
